Ways to be Involved

Interested in expanding your Impact? Consider joining one of our committees:

Grant Review:

Join a committee to review and discuss grant applications from nonprofit organizations.  After the review process, each committee will choose one Finalist to present their project for a vote at our Annual Meeting Celebration in the spring.

  • All Grant Review Committees meet three times for discussion. In addition, there will be two Virtual Site Visits.
  • Some committees will meet in-person and some will follow a hybrid (in-person/Zoom) blend.  You may only join one Grant Review Committee.
  • Training session required for new committee members.
(Grant writers and nonprofit employees: If you work with a nonprofit organization that applies for an Impact100 Grant during a given grant cycle, you may not participate on a Grant Review Committee or the Finance Committee, and you may not attend any first round Virtual Site Visits.)

    Membership:

Work with the Vice President of Membership to help design strategies to attract new members and retain existing members; organize info sessions throughout the county for prospective members to learn about Impact 100; plan special events and celebrations such as fall membership Kickoff and winter Members' Night Out.

    Impact Boost:

Be part of a team that conducts 10-minute interviews with smaller nonprofit organizations that are looking for funds to boost their Impact in the Westchester community. Our committee will read the results of all the interviews and then meet in late-April to choose Finalists to present to our membership for voting. No prior Grant or Finance Review Committee experience is needed.

    Finance:

Discuss, evaluate and identify financial questions/issues regarding the financial sustainability of the Nonprofits' that are selected for the second round.

    • Finance Committee will meet two times.
    • No financial experience necessary.
    • Training session required for new committee members.

    Communications and Social Media:

Manage content and timing of postings on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.

    Events:

Help plan events that give our members an opportunity to gather.  Events include:

Annual Meeting: Help plan the logistics and details for our Annual Meeting celebration held in the spring. Grant awards are presented to our Westchester nonprofit applicants after a membership vote.  Dinner, drinks and gathering with your fellow Impact members make this a very special evening.

    Hands-On Volunteering:

Cultivate relationships with nonprofit community. Manage community service projects with our previous grantees and help compile a volunteer wishlist for those organizations.

    Education:

Assist in planning our fall and spring Education events. Help select topics and identify local experts to organize programs and lead discussions with members.

    Impact Xtra:

Social and cultural events to discover Westchester County hidden gems in small group social settings are available for an additional fee to Impact members and their friends!  Prior events have included a tour of the farm and grazing pastures at Stone Barns followed by a Blue Hill buffet luncheon; a private tour of a women artists exhibit at the Katonah Art museum; a mindfulness meditation workshop followed by a luncheon.
